About Us
Design With Intention
We are a London-based interior design studio dedicated to creating spaces that are as considered as they are beautiful.
Our Story
Born From a Love of Beautiful Spaces
House of Gani was founded in 2016 by Amara Gani, a designer with a background in fine art and architecture. What began as a single commission — a friend's flat in Notting Hill — grew into a studio known for its quiet confidence and deeply personal approach.
We believe the best interiors tell a story. Not a generic one, but yours — shaped by how you move through a room, what you reach for first, what makes you exhale. Our job is to listen carefully enough to translate that into form, material, and light.
Today, House of Gani works across London and beyond, on projects ranging from single-room transformations to complete architectural renovations. Every project, regardless of scale, receives the same unhurried attention.
What We Believe
Our Values
Craft Over Speed
We take the time a project deserves. Rushing produces rooms that look finished but don't feel right. We'd rather deliver late and perfect than on time and ordinary.
Listening First
Every brief begins with a conversation — not a presentation. We ask questions, we observe, and we resist the urge to impose a signature style before we understand who you are.
Honest Materials
We favour materials that age well and tell the truth about what they are. Stone, timber, linen, plaster — things that develop character rather than deteriorate.
Enduring Over Trending
Trends are a distraction. We design for the long term — spaces that feel right in ten years, not just in the month they're photographed.
The Team
The People Behind the Work
Amara Gani
Founder & Creative Director
Amara trained at the Architectural Association before spending five years at a leading London practice. She founded House of Gani in 2016 with a single conviction: that great design should feel inevitable, not impressive.
James Okafor
Lead Designer
James brings a rigorous spatial intelligence to every project. His background in architecture means he thinks in three dimensions first — furniture and finishes come later, once the bones are right.
Priya Mehta
Project Manager
Priya is the reason projects run smoothly. She manages every contractor, delivery, and timeline with a calm authority that clients find deeply reassuring — especially during the messy middle of a renovation.
